Traffic Escape

Weave through highway traffic at full speed. Shave past cars for near-miss combos, grab coins and shields, burn turbo, and survive night city, dawn highway and neon tunnel as the speed climbs. Drive hot enough and the police come for you: a cruiser weaves up through the traffic to pull alongside, and you have seconds to burn turbo, cut to the far lane or let it bury itself in a truck.

How Traffic Escape works

You drive one lane of a three-lane highway that never ends, and the road speeds up the longer you live. Changing lane is instant, so the game is about reading what is coming rather than steering: cars ahead move slower than you, lorries much slower, and once the run is about thirty-five seconds old some traffic comes the other way with its headlights on. The road generator never seals all three lanes, so there is always a way through — but not always a comfortable one.

Passing close to a car without touching it is a near miss, and near misses chain into a combo that raises both your score rate and your turbo. Turbo burns the tank fast and multiplies your score while it runs; coins refill it, and a shield lets you survive exactly one mistake. Everything on the road is scored against speed, so the safest lane is rarely the profitable one.

Driving well is what brings the police out. Near misses and turbo build heat, calm driving cools it, and when the bar fills a cruiser comes up through the traffic and pulls alongside you. Hold it there and it books you — the run ends BUSTED rather than crashed. Burn turbo to push it back, cut to the far side of the road so it cannot reach you, or leave it to bury itself in a lorry; each escape pays a bonus, and after a minute and a half two of them come at once.

Tips for Traffic Escape

  • Near misses build your combo — pass close, but change lanes early rather than at the last moment.
  • Save turbo for gaps you can already see; boosting into dense traffic is how runs end.
  • Shields are worth a detour. One mistake is free while it lasts.
  • Heat is the price of driving well: near misses and turbo both raise it, and a calm few seconds brings it down. Watch the bar if you would rather not meet a cruiser.
  • Once a cruiser is alongside, turbo pushes it back, and the far lane keeps it from pulling you over while it crosses. Traffic is your best friend — lead it into a truck.
