Privacy Policy

Mentogames is a free games site with no accounts, no ads and no third-party trackers. This page explains the little we do collect, and how to switch it off.
The short version
- No sign-up, no names, no email addresses, no payment details.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no third-party analytics or tracking pixels, no selling or sharing of data.
- Anonymous visit statistics are counted on our own server so we can see which games people enjoy. You can opt out at any time below, and a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal opts you out automatically.
- Your game saves, best times and settings stay in your own browser and are never uploaded.
Anonymous visit statistics
When you open a page, your browser sends a small request to our own server (never to a third party). It contains:
- the page you opened and, when you start one, which game you played and roughly for how long;
- the website that linked you here, reduced to its name (for example “google.com”);
- your browser’s language setting;
- a random visitor id and a random session id created in your browser — they are not linked to your name, account or any other site.
From the request itself the server derives your device type, browser and operating system family (for example “mobile · Chrome · Android”) and your approximate country. Your IP address is used only for that country lookup at the moment of the request and is not stored. Requests from known bots are ignored.
We use these statistics only in aggregate — visits, popular games, play time, countries and devices — to improve the site. They are not used to profile you, not combined with other data and not shared.
Your choice
Statistics are on by default because they identify no one. Switch them off for this browser here:
Anonymous visit statistics
On — helps us see which games people enjoy.
Opting out also deletes the random ids from this browser. Because the choice is stored on your device, repeat it on each browser or device you use, or after clearing site data.
Game saves and settings on your device
Games keep things like best times, progress, favourites, recently played games and sound or control settings in your browser’s local storage so they are still there next time. This never leaves your device. The full list is on the Cookies & storage page, where you can also see what is stored on your device and delete it with one tap, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
A game embedded on another website is still a Mentogames page running inside a frame, and it works the same way: the same anonymous count, the same storage on your device. The site around it is run by someone else and has its own privacy policy.
Motion sensors, sound and vibration
Some driving, flying and puzzle games can be steered by tilting your phone. The motion sensor is read only inside a game, only after you allow it, and the readings are used on the spot to steer — they are never stored or sent anywhere. What is kept is your choice of how sensitive tilt should be, as a setting on your device. Sound and vibration can each be switched off for the whole site with one button under any game; neither sends anything anywhere.
What this site is not allowed to do
Promising not to use your camera, microphone or location is easy to write down, so the site also tells your browser to refuse them. Every page is sent with a permissions policy that blocks camera, microphone, location, payment, USB and MIDI access outright and switches off the browser’s advertising topics — a bug or a future mistake in our code cannot ask you for any of them. Motion sensors are the one exception, because tilt steering needs them, and they are still read only inside a game after you allow it.
Pages also carry a frame-ancestors rule, which stops another website loading Mentogames inside its own page — passing the games off as its own, or wrapping them in adverts we have nothing to do with.
Why we are allowed to count visits
Under the GDPR the basis is legitimate interest: knowing which games people enjoy is what keeps the site worth running, and it is done with no cookies, no personal data and no third party involved, which is about as little as a visit count can cost you. Because nothing is stored on your device for statistics beyond two random ids, and no tracking cookies are set, we do not have to ask for cookie consent — and you can still switch the counting off above, or let your browser do it for you.
Where the site and its data live
Mentogames runs on a single server operated for this site, and the anonymous totals are stored on that same server rather than with an analytics company. Nothing is sent to a third-party service, so there is no onward transfer of your data to advertisers, data brokers or other platforms. Access to the server is limited to the site operator, and the admin area it holds is password-protected and closed to search engines.
How long statistics are kept
Statistics are kept as anonymous totals for as long as they are useful for running the site. Because they contain no IP addresses, names or contact details, they cannot be traced back to a person.
Children
The games are suitable for all ages and we deliberately collect no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Data protection laws such as the GDPR and Turkey’s KVKK give you rights over personal data about you. Since we hold no data that identifies you, the practical controls are the ones above: opt out of statistics (a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser does this automatically), and delete what is kept on your device from the Cookies & storage page, where you can also download a copy of everything kept here as a file.
If you believe your rights have been infringed, you can complain to a data protection authority — in the EU or UK the one for the country you live in, and in Turkey the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK). We would rather hear about it first, and this page will say how to reach us as soon as there is an address to give.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change. We will never start advertising tracking or share data with third parties without saying so clearly here beforehand.
