About
Games made here, played anywhere
Mentogames is a small game site with one rule: every game on it is our own. No downloads, no accounts, no ads — open a page and play.
Everything is built from scratch
The code, the artwork, the sounds and the names are made for this site. Nothing is bought in as a ready-made game, and nothing is taken from another games site. That is partly a matter of principle and partly practical: when we write the physics ourselves we can fix what feels wrong, tune the handling of a single car, or add a board size someone asked for.
It also means the classics here are our own versions. A marble maze, a mine-sweeping puzzle or a game of discs and corners are old ideas that belong to everyone; the board, the rules engine and the look of ours were written from a blank file.
Made for a phone in one hand
Most people arrive on a phone, so the controls come first. Driving and flying games can be steered by tilting the phone, with a sensitivity setting and a one-tap switch back to on-screen buttons. Runners take a swipe or a held half of the screen. Puzzles are tap-sized. Everything works with a keyboard too.
The tilt games collection explains how the motion controls work, including the permission prompt on iPhone.
No ads, no accounts, no tracking
There is nothing to sign up for and no advertising anywhere on the site. Your scores, saves and settings live in your own browser, and you can see and delete them on the Cookies & storage page. We count anonymous visits so we know which games people enjoy, you can switch that off, and a browser that sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal is opted out automatically.
Always being worked on
New games and improvements land regularly — new modes, better controls, faster loading. Every change a player would notice is written down in What’s new.
