Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about playing on Mentogames, on a computer or a phone.

Are the games free?

Yes. Every game on Mentogames is free to play in your browser. There are no accounts, no purchases and no ads.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. Games start right in the page. On a phone you can also add Mentogames to your home screen from the browser menu, and it will open full screen like an app.

Do the games work on phones and tablets?

Yes. Every game has touch controls, and the site adapts to portrait phones. Several driving and action games put their stick and buttons in a strip under the board, so the whole track stays in view. For the fastest games, the Fullscreen button gives you the most room.

Which games can I steer by tilting my phone?

Coreguard, Parking Master, Night Valet, Traffic Escape, Drift Master, Mento Nightline, Steady Aim, Prism Pop, Marble Maze, Apex Run, Cargo Run, Wreck Arena, Hill Climb, Wrunner, CityMento, GetCityCrazy, Canyon Glide. Look for the 📱 badge on a game card. The driving games start on a thumb stick and the others on their own touch controls; the switch at the top of the game (🕹 Stick / 📱 Tilt / buttons) turns tilt on, and your choice is remembered for every game.

Where can I read about all the controls?

The Controls guide covers keyboard shortcuts, touch gestures, tilt steering with its re-centre and sensitivity buttons, vibration, sound and fullscreen, and lists every game you can tilt. Read the Controls guide.

How do I turn on tilt steering on an iPhone or iPad?

Safari asks for permission to use the motion sensor. Switch the game to 📱 Tilt, tap “Tap to steer by tilting” at the top of the game and choose Allow. If you declined by mistake, close the tab and open the game again, or clear this website’s data in your browser settings, then allow it when asked.

The car drifts to one side, or tilt feels too sensitive.

Tilt treats however you hold the phone when the game starts as straight ahead. Tap ⟲ to re-centre whenever your grip changes. Next to it, the ◔ ◑ ◕ button sets how far you have to lean for a full turn — Low, Normal or High — and that choice is used by every tilt game. If tilt still feels unsteady, switch back to the 🕹 Stick: it only moves when your thumb does.

Is my progress saved?

Yes, on your device. Best times, scores, saves and settings are kept in your browser’s storage. They stay until you clear this site’s data, and they don’t move between browsers or devices.

Why is there no sound?

Browsers keep sound off until you interact with the page. Tap or click once inside the game. Also check the game’s own Sound button and your device’s silent switch.

A game runs slowly. What can I do?

Close other tabs and apps and make sure the browser is up to date. The 3D games lower their resolution automatically when a device struggles, and Mento Nightline has a Fast graphics option. Most games work in any modern Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.

Can I play offline?

You need a connection to open a game. Once a game has loaded it usually keeps running, but offline play isn’t supported.

Who makes the games?

Every game on Mentogames is built from scratch in-house, including its code, art, sounds and name. New games and updates arrive regularly — there is more on the About page.

My phone vibrates while I play. Can I stop that?

Yes. Under any game there is a 📳 Vibration button that turns it off for every game on the site, and it stays off until you turn it back on. The button only appears on devices that can vibrate at all.

Can I replay the same game of Solitaire?

Yes. Every deal has a number shown next to the clock, and the Replay button deals that exact game again from the start — useful when a deal beats you. Marble Maze works the same way: its levels are fixed, so everyone plays the same maze and best times are comparable.

Can I move my progress to another device?

Not at the moment. Scores, best times and settings are kept in the browser you played in, and there is no account to sync them. Playing in a private window, or clearing this site’s data, starts everything fresh.

Can I play in my own language?

Yes. Mentogames speaks English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian and Indonesian. Pick yours from the 🌐 menu at the top of any page; the game descriptions, tips, rules and controls all follow it.

How do I find the newest games?

New games carry a NEW badge for a while and sit in the “New on Mentogames” row on the home page. Every new game and notable change is also written up on the What’s new page. Browse calm games, high score games or tilt games to narrow things down.
